What Are Poker Playing Cards?

There are many types of Poker Playing Cards. They can be called “regular playing cards”, “high-low” or “jack”. There are also Bicycle Playing Cards, which are made from a different type of paper than other poker playing cards and have a different design.

How to Play Poker Playing Cards

The basic steps for playing poker are to place money in the pot (known as the money deck), draw cards, and make hands. To win, you must get all of your hands in the pot before your opponent does. The two most common hand formats for poker are straight (a hand with cooker and keno) and Omaha (a hand with three or more Joker cards).

How to Use Poker Playing Cards

To use a poker card, you first laid it down on the table face up, so that all six faces were visible. Then you flipped it over so that the Ace side was facing out (this is known as “flipping”). You then took your thumb and first two fingers and placed them over the Ace side of the card, just under the point of intersection between these fingers and the rest of your palm; this is known as “flapping” or “reducing” the suit by one notch (see illustration below). Now bring your second two fingers up above this point and press down firmly against it – this is known as “pushing” or folding the card forward one notch).
